Superintendent's Biography
Nancy Lotze was born in a small community in northern Illinois, but moved to Northport, Washington at the end of her third grade year where she stayed until graduating from high school in 1982.    She attended Gonzaga University receiving her B.A. in English and an initial teaching certificate in 1987. While in college, Nancy spent a semester abroad in Gonzaga’s London program. Upon graduation, Nancy substituted in the Northport and Colville School Districts before coming to the Selkirk School District in 1988.

In 1992, juggling work and parenting responsibilities, she went back to school to earn a school psychologist degree from the University of Idaho.   During that time, she provided special education consulting services to Cusick, Kettle Falls, and Liberty school districts.   Continuing on in her education, Nancy earned her superintendent certification from Washington State University in 2005.

Since 1988, Nancy has been employed with the Selkirk School District in a variety of roles including 7-12 English teacher, 7-12 special education teacher, district school psychologist, elementary building administrator, special services director, and, since 2005, superintendent.

She lives near Sullivan Lake with her husband, Dan, and their two daughters, Kate and Anna.
